What is an Easter holiday in the UK

 Live and learn.

When we arrived in Bath I chatted to the gal checking us into the hotel about our train journey and how busy it was. She mentioned we had come during the Easter holidays. I asked her if she could explain because we had never heard of this nor do we practice this in the US.

Apparently there are two weeks of vacation for children from schools and most of their families that take the time off to run around the country and Europe for that duration of time. The two weeks that lead up to Easter are exactly the two weeks of our vacation. We will return home the day before Easter.

So we understand that it is going to be busier than expected but what would we know anyway because we’ve never been here before even if it wasn’t a two holiday week for families.

Chatting with the desk agent about how busy it seemed in London she said just wait they expected another 300,000 people for the weekend on top of the ones that were here already visiting.

That brings me to a situation. What type of person do you think you are? Extrovert or introvert? I tend to think I’m a little of both. More extra than not. Well hubby happens to be almost the exact opposite. More introverted than not. It turns out that the amount of people he saw just getting to the hotel from the train station was overwhelming and to a point, draining. I on the other hand, once settled began to feel the energy of a million people and feel excited. This does wear off and comes in waves mostly because I am also bipolar. So big plans to pack “all the things” in before we leave London will be whittled down and give room to be back at the hotel to recharge emotional batteries. I don’t always understand the words people are trying to say but feeling a person’s vibe is something I think I am ok at sometimes.

Things change and we will change with them. No Xanax for me needed on this account.

I think of Ross, “Pivot!”
