Wandering about Liverpool

Today was eat a hearty breakfast day again. I tried black pudding, hubby refused even for scientific research purposes. I wouldn't eat it again probably. The flavor is ok, tastes a bit like sausage, but the texture is oddly soft for something that looks like a hockey puck.

The agenda today was walk all over Liverpool, see all the things. We walked about seven miles today, so says my phone, so it's up for interpretation. This city is massive, I did no research on the size of the cities we were going to, I only knew that London would be the biggest. Since Bath was so much larger than I thought it was going to be, we looked up the other cities we are visiting on our list. Liverpool is the tenth largest city in the UK. They have two football clubs and their buildings are massive, not tall, but huge. People coming and going all over the place.

I am a Beatles fan so I was excited to see the Cavern Club. I got to drink a beer and listen to live music in there, amazing.

We went down to the Albert docks and walked around there, looking at shops, seeing the memorial statues, and going to a museum.

The last thing on the list was to go to St. Luke's bombed out church. It was beautiful, sad story but they left it as a memorial for the WWII bombings there in Liverpool. The church was damaged by an incendiary bomb.

Another busy long fun day. We also ate lunch and watched football at a rowdy pub. Here is a little more of the city and what we saw.
